27-Hydroxycholesterol (27-HC) is a metabolite resulting from the action of sterol 27-Hydroxylase on cholesterol. It is an endogenous selective estrogen receptor modulator and ligand for the liver X receptor (LXR). 27-Hydroxycholesterol plays a role in Alzheimer's disease, oxidative stress, metabolism, cell-signaling, and heart disease. Alternative name: 5,25R-Cholesten-3β,26-diol, (25R)-26-Hydroxycholesterol. Purity: ≥98% (HPLC). Solubility: Soluble in DMSO (up to 10 mg/ml with warming) or in ethanol (up to 10 mg/ml). Diagnoses using exosomes derived from saliva have been attracting great attention in recent years due to the ease of sample collection. However, saliva samples are challenging when it comes down to exosome isolation. In addition to cells and cell debris, large amount of amylase, mucin and glycoprotein are present in saliva, and make the samples viscous and hard to manipulate. Pre-treatments, such as sonication and dilution, are often required. In many cases, the saliva samples can still be difficult to handle even after pre-treatments. This product is specifically designed to address these issues using the proprietary saliva filters. Highly viscous saliva samples can be converted to non-viscous solutions instantly by passing the samples through the filter. Exosomes can then be readily precipitated from as little as 100 µl saliva using the highly effective non-PEG-based reagent.

The RosetteSep™ Human Progenitor Cell Basic Pre-Enrichment Kit is designed to pre-enrich hematopoietic progenitor cells from cord blood by negative selection. Unwanted cells are targeted for removal with antibody complexes recognizing CD3, CD11b, CD19 and glycophorin A on red blood cells (RBCs). When centrifuged over a buoyant density medium such as Lymphoprep™ (Catalog #07801), the unwanted cells pellet along with the RBCs. The hematopoietic progenitor cells are present as an enriched population at the interface between the plasma and the buoyant density medium. Cells of interest can then be positively selected from the pre-enriched cell population using EasySep™ (e.g. EasySep™ Human CD34 Positive Selection).
